Application Form for Garden Sculpture 2010

Create

This invitation is extended to all persons.  It is an opportunity to create art as part of the Jordan Art Festival celebration.  Are you a sculptor?  If you have built sandcastles, piled leaves, or stacked firewood, the answer is yes!  Sculpting is the art of assembling or shaping an object in three-dimensional form. It is a means of expressing yourself through the use of imagination.  If you like to create, or would enjoy collaborating with a friend or neighbor on an idea, then consider taking part.  The theme for 2010 is ANIMALS.

Discover
All entries will be on display in one of the parks or gardens on or near Water Street on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27.  Art festival attendees will be invited to view the sculptures, discover the incredible talent and imagination of their friends and neighbors, and vote for winners of the Peoples' Choice Awards.

Share
Participants have the option of donating their Garden Sculptures to the Art Festival silent auction or of keeping their sculptures and helping us reach our goal of placing Art in Every Yard in Jordan.  All proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to a Scott County food shelf.

Celebrate

Take part.  Celebrate the possibilities within our community for making a difference in our visual landscape.

Rules for participation:

 Sculptures must:

                    1. Be stable and free-standing (cannot stake into ground)

             2. Created out of weather-resistant materials

             3. Occupy a space no smaller than 2' x 2' x 3' and no larger than 3' x 3' x 7'

             4. Meet our theme of Garden Sculpture: Animals

It is the sculptors' responsibility to deliver their project the morning of June 26 and pick it up the afternoon of June 27, unless piece is donated for silent auction.  Further delivery/pick-up details will be sent to Garden Sculpture registrants.
